Woman’s Self‑Immolation Bid Outside Lok Seva Bhavan Foiled

Bhubaneswar, May 15: Tension gripped the Odisha Secretariat premises after a woman attempted self‑immolation outside Lok Seva Bhavan.

The incident occurred near Gate No. 1 when she poured petrol on herself. Alert SSB jawans swiftly intervened, overpowering her and rushing her to the hospital.

After being rescued, the woman alleged that Banpur police had falsely arrested her and fabricated charges against her.

She claimed she was unfairly targeted and sought justice.

Police officials confirmed that she was taken into custody and admitted for medical care.

Her condition is reported to be stable. Authorities have assured that her allegations will be investigated further.
