Odisha Reserves Special Petrol Pumps to Keep Public Transport Moving
Bhubaneswar: In a decisive move to safeguard public transport services, the Odisha State Transport Authority (STA) convened an urgent meeting with bus and truck owners and oil companies to address concerns over fuel availability.
Chaired by Transport Commissioner Amitabh Thakur under the direction of Commerce & Transport Minister Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, the meeting finalised immediate measures to ensure uninterrupted mobility across the state.
Officials announced that each district will now have reserved petrol pumps exclusively for buses and trucks, while additional outlets along National Highways will cater to heavy vehicles.
These facilities will be monitored daily by government authorities and oil companies to prevent supply disruptions.
The STA also urged stakeholders not to spread or believe unverified rumours about shortages, assuring commuters and businesses that public transport services will continue smoothly without inconvenience.
The proactive steps highlight the government’s commitment to passenger safety and economic stability.
