Jagannath Temple Servitors Meet President Murmu, Present Lord Jagannath Idol
A delegation of Jagannath Temple servitors and members of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) met President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi, presenting her with a handcrafted idol of Lord Jagannath from Puri.
The team included sevayat Bipin Patri, SJTA committee member Madhusudan Singhari, and sevayat Santosh Pushpalak.
During the meeting, they discussed temple rituals, preparations for the upcoming Rath Yatra, and challenges faced by servitors.
They also highlighted civic development in Puri and the importance of preserving Odisha’s cultural heritage.
President Murmu reaffirmed her devotion to Lord Jagannath and emphasised safeguarding Puri’s traditions.
She expressed keen interest in temple management and servitor welfare, making the meeting both emotional and memorable for the delegation.
