Odisha CM Announces Cash Awards for Indian Women’s Hockey Team After Historic Asian Games Gold
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a cash award of ₹11 lakh for each player and ₹5.5 lakh for each support staff member of the Indian Women’s Hockey Team following their historic victory at the Asian Games 2026.
The team defeated defending champions China 1–0 in the final at the Aichi‑Nagoya Games, clinching India’s first women’s hockey gold at the Asian Games in over four decades.
This triumph also secured direct qualification for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.
Congratulating the team, CM Majhi praised their determination and commitment, reaffirming Odisha’s continued support for Indian hockey and sporting excellence.
