Odisha Governor Honors Padma Shri Nominees & ICS Toppers

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati hosted a felicitation ceremony at Lok Bhavan’s New Abhishek Hall to honour distinguished achievers across literature, arts, and public service.

The event recognised four Padma Shri nominees for 2025: Mahendra Kumar Mishra for documenting Adivasi folk traditions, Charan Hembram for promoting Santali language and literature, Seemanchal Patra for his contribution to Prahlad Natak, and Sarat Kumar Patra for preserving Odisha’s handloom heritage.

Poet Girija Kumar Baliyarsingh was felicitated for winning the Sahitya Akademi Award for his acclaimed work Padapurana.

In addition, successful ICS 2025 candidates from Odisha and their parents were honoured for their dedication and achievement.

Governor Kambhampati described the ceremony as a “festival of excellence, dedication, creativity, and public service,” urging young officers to contribute to Viksit Bharat 2047 with integrity and compassion.

The program also featured cultural performances and inspiring stories from the honorees, reinforcing Odisha’s legacy in creativity and public service.
