Brahmapur Criminal Killed in Alleged Drunken Brawl; Friend Arrested
Brahmapur, Odisha: A notorious criminal from Brahmapur was allegedly murdered by his friend following a drunken altercation in the Nimakhandi area of Ganjam district on Saturday night.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Tuna Nayak, who was known to local law enforcement for his criminal background.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Tuna Nayak was consuming alcohol with his associate, Bitu Sahu, when an argument reportedly broke out between the two.
What began as a verbal dispute soon escalated into a violent confrontation.
Police said that during the altercation, Bitu Sahu allegedly attacked Tuna Nayak with a sharp weapon, inflicting fatal injuries by slitting his throat.
The victim succumbed to his injuries on the spot before any medical assistance could arrive.

The body was sent for post-mortem examination while forensic evidence was collected from the crime scene.
Authorities later apprehended Bitu Sahu and reportedly seized the weapon used in the crime.
