World Bank Delegation Explores Odisha’s Critical Minerals Ecosystem

Bhubaneswar: A high‑level delegation from the World Bank Group met Odisha Chief Secretary Anu Garg and senior officials to explore collaboration in strengthening the state’s critical minerals ecosystem.

The discussions focused on developing mineral processing parks, boosting production, promoting investments, and enhancing logistics infrastructure.

Skill development and technology integration were also highlighted as key enablers for building a globally competitive value chain.

Officials from Steel & Mines, Industries, Revenue & Disaster Management, Housing & Urban Development, and Finance departments participated in the meeting.

The initiative aims to position Odisha as a strategic hub for critical minerals vital to clean energy technologies, advanced manufacturing, and national security industries.

The World Bank’s engagement underscores Odisha’s growing role in India’s mineral economy and its ambition to attract global investment while fostering sustainable industrial growth.
