Odisha CM Pushes Fast‑Track Redevelopment of SCB Medical College & Hanuman Vatika

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials to fast‑track two landmark projects — the mega redevelopment of SCB Medical College in Cuttack and the transformation of Hanuman Vatika in Rourkela.

At SCB Medical College, four new clinical blocks and one residential block are under construction.

The residential block is nearing completion, while the clinical blocks are expected to be ready by June next year.

The CM has also ordered planning for an additional medicine block to strengthen healthcare facilities.

He emphasised timely completion of the multi‑level car parking (MLCP) and the Taladanda Canal‑linked traffic corridor, alongside beautification measures such as wider roads, landscaping, and integration with nearby institutions.

In Rourkela, the CM instructed the Odisha Bridge & Construction Corporation (OBCC) to redesign Hanuman Vatika with a spiritual architectural style.

Works Department officials were tasked with accelerating construction of the Kalyan Mandap and other spiritual structures, while ensuring wider approach roads, proper illumination, and preservation of the sacred atmosphere.

The review meeting was attended by Law, Works & Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Chief Secretary Anu Garg, senior bureaucrats, and local officials.

The CM’s directives aim to deliver enhanced healthcare infrastructure in Cuttack and elevate the spiritual and cultural experience for devotees in Rourkela.
