The Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Odisha has entered its final stage, with the claims and objections deadline officially closed.

The Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) has confirmed that hearings and verifications will conclude by September 17, paving the way for the publication of the final voter list on September 21, 2026.

According to official data, notices were issued to 58,36,430 electors, with 58,36,374 successfully delivered.

The draft rolls currently retain 54,21,872 electors, while the total number of eligible voters stands at 3,09,71,941 — a figure expected to rise further after final scrutiny.

Applications received during this phase include 2,79,315 new registrations (Form‑6), 53,625 deletions (Form‑7), and 1,97,952 corrections (Form‑8).

These are under review by Assistant Electoral Registration Officers to ensure accuracy.

CEO R.S. Gopalan stressed the importance of maintaining clean rolls, ensuring that no eligible citizen is excluded and no ineligible name remains.

To boost youth participation, Electoral Literacy Clubs across schools and colleges are conducting debates, quizzes, and competitions to encourage first‑time voters.
