Utkal University Postpones August 17 Exams Amid Odisha Floods
Bhubaneswar: Utkal University has officially postponed all +3 undergraduate, B.Sc. ITM, B.Sc. Computer Science, and B.Ed (UDTE) 4th semester examinations scheduled for 17 August 2026 due to severe floods and heavy rainfall across Odisha.
The Controller of Examinations issued Notification No. CoE/2146/2026 on 16 August 2026, citing unsafe travel conditions for students, faculty, and exam staff.
The university emphasised that accessibility to campuses and transport routes has been severely disrupted.
Authorities assured that revised exam dates will be announced well in advance, allowing colleges to adjust their academic calendars smoothly.
Principals and directors of affiliated institutions have been instructed to inform students immediately.
The order has also been published on the UUeMS portal and the university’s official website.
This postponement comes as Odisha continues to battle widespread flooding, with several districts reporting heavy damage to infrastructure and mobility.
