GRP Busts Major Drug Haul at Titlagarh Station

Titlagarh (Odisha): In a major crackdown on narcotics smuggling, Government Railway Police (GRP) seized 31.5 kg of ganja from the Visakhapatnam–Nizamuddin Samata Express at Titlagarh railway station.

Six women were arrested after police grew suspicious of their unusually heavy trolley bags during a routine check on Platform No. 3.

The contraband, packed inside six trolley bags, was being transported to New Delhi.

The arrested women have been identified as Pushpa Deep (30) and Bhagyabati Deep (29) of Saintala, Anusuya Bibhar (30) of Karlamunda, Anjali Luha (30) of Barpali, and Renu Singh, along with Anita Murmu (27) of South Delhi.

Inspector‑in‑Charge Santoshi Mahanta confirmed that all six accused were forwarded to court.

The seizure underscores growing concerns about drug trafficking through railway routes in Odisha, with authorities intensifying surveillance to curb the menace.
