Police Announce Route Changes for April 30 Assembly Session
Bhubaneswar, April 29: The Bhubaneswar‑Cuttack Police Commissionerate has announced traffic diversions across key city routes ahead of the Special Session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly scheduled for April 30, 2026.
The restrictions, effective from 7 AM onwards, are aimed at ensuring smooth vehicular movement and enhanced security around the Assembly premises.
According to the advisory:
- Vehicles from Housing Board Square → Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at Keshari Talkies Square.
- Traffic from AG Square → PMG will turn right at Jaydev Bhawan and proceed via IG Park Road.
- Vehicles from Master Canteen → PMG will be diverted near Lower PMG lanes.
- Vehicles from 120 Infantry Battalion Square → Power House Square.
- Vehicles from Lok Bhawan Square → MLA Colony/Rabindra Mandap will be diverted at 120 Battalion Square → Sastrinagar Square.
Emergency vehicles, including police, fire tenders, and ambulances, along with authorised vehicles for official buildings such as the State Assembly and Lokseva Bhawan, are exempt from these restrictions.
Authorities have urged commuters to plan routes in advance to avoid inconvenience, emphasising that the diversions are temporary measures for the duration of the special session.
