Odisha Name 18-Member U-19 Squad for Cooch Behar Trophy, Mallick to Lead
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Cricket Association (OCA) has announced an 18-member Odisha Under-19 men’s squad for the opening phase of the prestigious Cooch Behar Trophy 2026-27, India’s premier domestic red-ball tournament for junior cricketers.
The squad will be led by Subhasis Mallick, who has been entrusted with the responsibility of guiding Odisha’s campaign in the tournament.
The selection was announced by the Junior Men’s Selection Committee headed by Sourajit Mohapatra.
Odisha have been placed in Elite Group E and will begin their campaign with two home fixtures.
The team will first take on Goa from November 26 to 29 at the Gandhi Stadium in Balangir before facing Bengal from December 3 to 6 at Vikash Ground in Bargarh.
The team features a blend of promising young talents, including wicketkeepers Panakala Mokshit and Vedant Vinod Devhade, who will strengthen the side behind the stumps.
Following the opening matches, Odisha will travel to Rohtak to face Haryana before returning home for a clash against Jammu & Kashmir in Bargarh.
The group-stage campaign will conclude with an away fixture against Karnataka in Hubli.
With home advantage in the first two matches, Odisha will be eager to make a strong start and build momentum in one of India’s most competitive junior cricket tournaments.
