Odisha Clears 63 Project Proposals to Boost Industrial Growth and Investment

Bhubaneswar: In a significant push towards industrial expansion and economic development, the state’s Land Allotment Committee (LAC) has approved 63 project proposals aimed at accelerating investment and industrial growth across Odisha.

The move is expected to strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem, create employment opportunities, and facilitate faster implementation of new business ventures.

The approvals include 55 land allotment proposals and eight projects in the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector.

The decisions were taken during a meeting chaired by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary of the Housing and Urban Development Department and Chairperson of IDCO, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring timely support for industrial projects.

The committee’s decision comes as Odisha continues to attract investments across multiple sectors through policy reforms and streamlined administrative processes.

Officials emphasised that efficient land allocation remains a key factor in converting investment proposals into operational industries.

To improve investor confidence and reduce procedural delays, IDCO has introduced several investor-friendly initiatives.

These include monthly Land Allotment Committee meetings for quicker decision-making and a dedicated weekly grievance redressal mechanism to address concerns raised by investors and entrepreneurs.

The approval of eight MSME proposals underscores the government’s focus on supporting small and medium enterprises, which play a crucial role in employment generation, innovation, and regional economic development.

Industry observers believe that the latest approvals will further strengthen Odisha’s reputation as an investment-friendly destination.

By streamlining land allotment processes and ensuring greater transparency, the state aims to accelerate project execution and sustain industrial growth momentum in the coming years.
