Vatican City Comes Alive in Bhubaneswar: Rasulgarh Puja Pandal Draws Massive Crowds
Bhubaneswar: The renowned Rasulgarh Durga Puja Committee has once again captivated devotees and visitors by unveiling a grand replica of Vatican City as its theme pandal for Dussehra this year.
The spectacular structure has emerged as one of the biggest festive attractions in the capital city, drawing thousands of visitors eager to witness the architectural marvel.
Measuring an impressive 125 feet in width and 80 feet in height, the Vatican City-themed pandal showcases extraordinary craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The project was executed by a team of 30 to 40 artisans, masons, and carpenters from Kolkata, led by chief artisan Bidyut Jana, who spent nearly two months bringing the ambitious vision to life.
Organizers said the replica has been built using a combination of materials including foam, bamboo, fibre, plywood, sunpack sheets, and specially treated Rajasthani date palm leaves, creating a visually striking and intricate representation of the iconic landmark.
With large crowds expected throughout the festive season, the committee has implemented extensive safety and convenience measures.
More than 40 CCTV cameras have been installed across the venue, while four dedicated parking areas have been arranged to manage traffic and visitor flow efficiently.
Volunteers have also been deployed to assist senior citizens and differently-abled devotees during darshan.
Apart from the main attraction, visitors can enjoy several entertainment and shopping options, including a traditional Meena Bazaar, giant swings, and a variety of food stalls set up across the puja grounds.
The Rasulgarh Durga Puja Committee has earned a reputation for creating replicas of world-famous landmarks.
Previous themes included London’s Royal Albert Hall, Delhi’s Akshardham Temple, and a celebrated Buddha Temple in Taiwan.
The Vatican City theme further reinforces the committee’s status as one of Bhubaneswar’s most anticipated Durga Puja destinations.
