Odisha Rolls Out Mission Shakti Phase 3 Training for 4,500 Staff

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has rolled out the third phase of its flagship Mission Shakti skill development programme, aimed at empowering women through community support initiatives.

Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida inaugurated the programme at Mission Shakti Bhawan, Bhubaneswar, marking a significant step toward strengthening self-help groups (SHGs) across the state.

Between July and September 2026, nearly 4,500 personnel from all 30 districts will undergo intensive training.

The inaugural session saw participation from 190 staff members of Nimapada and Gop blocks in Puri district, where identity cards were distributed to seven staff members.

In total, 62,341 Community Support Staff statewide will receive identity cards in phases.

The training will cover areas such as livelihood promotion, entrepreneurship development, financial inclusion, digital empowerment, and grassroots service delivery.

Beneficiaries include Community Resource Persons, Master Book Keepers, Bank Mitras, Krushi Mitras, Prani Mitras, and Livelihood Support Persons.

Parida emphasised that Community Support Staff are the backbone of Mission Shakti, playing a vital role in expanding women’s entrepreneurship and financial independence.

The initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Lakhpati Didi’ campaign and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s vision to create more “Lakhpati Didis,” “Mahalakshmi Didis,” and “Crorepati Didis.”

Mission Shakti Director Dr Monika Priyadarshini delivered the welcome address, while Additional Secretary Namrata Modi offered the vote of thanks.

Senior officials of the department were also present at the launch event.
