Odisha Police Extends Aid and Job Relief to Late Home Guard’s Family

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police has provided financial assistance of Rs 6.55 lakh to the family of late Home Guard Pradeep Kumar Martha, who passed away on April 24, 2026, during treatment at Capital Hospital.

The aid was contributed by IPS officers of Odisha and handed over to his wife, Urmila Martha, by DG (Anti‑Naxal Operations) Sanjeeb Panda in the presence of IG (Operations) Deepak Kumar.

Earlier, the family had received Rs 4 lakh ex gratia from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Rs 1.12 lakh from the Retired IPS Officers’ Association.

In addition to financial support, Urmila Martha was appointed as a Home Guard in the Bhubaneswar‑Cuttack Police Commissionerate on August 15, 2026, ensuring long‑term livelihood security.

This initiative highlights Odisha Police’s commitment to supporting the families of personnel who serve the force with dedication.
