Odisha Empowers Citizens with Auto Appeal System & WhatsApp BOT
Bhubaneswar, May 15: The Centre for Modernising Government Initiative (CMGI) organised an orientation programme for members of the ICC Women Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC) at Lokseva Bhawan, highlighting Odisha’s push toward citizen‑centric governance.
The session focused on the Odisha Right to Public Services Act (ORTPSA) and the newly introduced Ama Sathi Unified WhatsApp BOT, designed to simplify access to public services.
CMGI Executive Director Surendra Kumar Meena (IAS) emphasised the importance of civil society participation in strengthening accountability.
He noted that the recently approved Auto Appeal System will automatically escalate service requests if deadlines are missed, ensuring transparency and timely delivery.
Project Coordinator Pinaki Mohanty explained ORTPSA’s framework and the digital architecture of the Auto Appeal System, while also introducing the Ama Sathi BOT.
A live demonstration of the BOT was presented by Meta India, showcasing its potential to streamline citizen interactions.
INWEC Convenor Swati Kejriwal praised the initiative as a step toward empowering citizens and entrepreneurs.
Members Nivediata Narula and Samidha Sathpathy described the session as insightful, underscoring Odisha’s leadership in digital inclusion.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sarita Kanungo, Dy. Project Coordinator, CMGI.
