Odisha Police Launch Statewide Crackdown on Criminals

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Director General of Police (DGP) Y.B. Khurania has issued a stern warning to criminals, declaring that they have “no place” in the state.

Following recent encounters in Berhampur and Sambalpur, the police have intensified their crackdown on anti‑social elements across Odisha.

In the past five days, more than 1,700 non‑bailable warrant (NBW) drives have been conducted, resulting in over 50 arrests.

Authorities have also booked six individuals under the National Security Act (NSA).

The DGP emphasised that jail returnees are under strict surveillance, with intelligence inputs guiding police action.

Superintendents of Police (SPs) are personally monitoring operations at the ground level to strengthen law and order.

This aggressive campaign signals the state’s commitment to ensuring public safety and sending a clear message that criminal activities will not be tolerated.
