Nandankanan Zoo to Open on Raja Sankranti, June 15

Bhubaneswar, June 11: Nandankanan Zoological Park has announced that it will remain open on Monday, June 15, to allow visitors to celebrate Raja Sankranti at the popular destination.

The zoo, which is usually closed on Mondays, has shifted its weekly holiday to Tuesday, June 16, for this occasion.

Authorities explained that the adjustment was made because Raja Sankranti falls on a Monday this year, and the decision ensures that families and tourists can enjoy the festival at the zoo and its adjoining botanical garden.

The move is expected to draw higher footfall as visitors combine festive celebrations with leisure trips.

Officials have urged visitors to plan accordingly and take advantage of the special opening, which highlights the zoo’s role as a cultural and recreational hub during Odisha’s traditional festival season.
