Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms to Persist in Odisha Till July 25, IMD Issues Yellow Alert
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for Odisha, forecasting heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across several districts until July 25, 2026.
According to the IMD, coastal and northern districts will face intense weather conditions over the next five days.
Farmers, fishermen, and travellers have been advised to remain cautious and follow official updates closely.
District-wise Forecast:
- July 21: Heavy rain in Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
- July 22: Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj (heavy rain); thunderstorms in coastal districts.
- July 23: Balasore, Bhadrak, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj (heavy rain).
- July 24: Thunderstorms in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj.
- July 25: Thunderstorms in Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur.
The IMD has urged residents to take precautionary measures, especially in vulnerable areas prone to flooding and lightning strikes.
