Bhubaneswar, Sept 5: Odisha witnessed a proud moment as 336 newly trained Sub‑Inspectors, including 70 women, joined the state police force after completing two years of rigorous training.

However, Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik used the occasion to question the government over the cancelled 2025 Combined Police Service Examination following a paper leak scandal
The exam, meant to fill 933 posts across police, fire, and jail services, was scrapped after aspirants were caught with leaked papers allegedly sold for up to ₹25 lakh.
The case was handed to the CBI, with multiple arrests and bail rejections by the Orissa High Court, which termed the leak a “crime against society.”
Patnaik pressed two key questions: when will the exam be rescheduled, and when will culprits face strict punishment?
Recruitment responsibility has since shifted to the Odisha Uniformed Services Staff Selection Commission (OUSSSC), which promised completion by October 2026.
Yet, no fresh exam date has been announced, leaving thousands of aspirants in limbo.
Patnaik warned that delays erode youth confidence and public trust in fair recruitment, demanding immediate notification of a new exam.
