‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’: BMC Launches Urban Plantation Campaign
Bhubaneswar, April 28: The Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched a major city beautification and plantation drive at the CRP Square Flyover underpass, as part of the nationwide “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
Senior officials, including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Standing Committee Chairperson, Zonal Commissioner, Deputy Commissioners, and corporators, participated in the initiative, which aims to transform underutilised urban spaces into green zones.
The campaign, aligned with the Swachh Bhubaneswar Mission, encourages citizens to plant trees in honour of their mothers, promoting cleanliness, ecological balance, and sustainability.
Officials highlighted that the drive will not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of the city but also inspire community participation in tree planting and urban sustainability efforts.
