CM Majhi Launches ₹1,330 Crore Development Projects in Keonjhar

Keonjhar, April 28: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi unveiled a massive development package worth Rs 1,330 crore in Keonjhar, marking a significant boost to infrastructure, industry, and public welfare in the district.

The announcement included 24 completed projects worth Rs 251 crore, 62 new projects worth Rs 705 crore, and a Rs 375 crore package for 101 upcoming initiatives.

A major highlight was the launch of Odisha’s first smart e‑bus service in Keonjhar, featuring 25 electric buses with fares starting at Rs 5.

The buses are equipped with air‑conditioning, CCTV, GPS tracking, and panic buttons, supported by a new Rs 17 crore “Ama Bus” depot.

In a push for women’s empowerment, 30 women guides and two women drivers were inducted into the e‑bus workforce under the Mahila Shakti campaign.

CM Majhi also announced plans for a mega steel plant, positioning Keonjhar as a future industrial hub.

The projects are expected to generate employment and reduce carbon emissions by 390 tonnes annually.

Additionally, welfare assistance of Rs 5.75 lakh was distributed to six beneficiaries.

Majhi described the coming years as “Odisha’s decade of determination”, setting a vision for a prosperous state by 2036.
