CBI Arrests NEET‑UG 2026 Paper Leak Kingpin in Pune
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested P.V. Kulkarni, a Chemistry lecturer from Pune, identified as the mastermind behind the NEET‑UG 2026 paper leak.
According to investigators, Kulkarni conducted “special coaching” sessions at his residence, dictating exact Chemistry questions, options, and answers to select students.
Their notes matched the official exam held on 3 May 2026 word‑for‑word.
Kulkarni allegedly collaborated with Manisha Waghmare, arrested earlier on 14 May, and a network of middlemen who charged aspirants several lakhs of rupees for access to these “sure‑shot” classes.
The CBI registered the case on 12 May 2026 following a complaint by the Ministry of Education.
Raids across Jaipur, Gurugram, Nashik, Pune, and Ahilyanagar have led to eight arrests so far.
Investigators seized documents, gadgets, and mobile phones for forensic analysis.
Five accused are currently in seven‑day police custody, while others were produced in the Pune court for transit remand to Delhi.
With over 20 lakh aspirants affected, the scandal has sparked outrage and raised serious concerns about exam integrity.
The CBI has assured a comprehensive and impartial investigation, vowing to expose all links in the leak chain.
