Bhubaneswar Police Crack Down on Corruption: ASI Dismissed After Bribery Allegations
Bhubaneswar Police have dismissed Assistant Sub‑Inspector (ASI) Rajesh Kullu following his alleged involvement in a bribery case registered under Vigilance P.S. Case No. 10 dated June 16, 2026.
According to reports, Kullu demanded and accepted money from an accused person in exchange for releasing seized mobile phones.
The Commissionerate Police acted swiftly, invoking Article 311(2)(b) of the Constitution of India to terminate his service.
In addition, one‑month termination notices were issued to two Home Guards—Jyotiranjan Behera and Abdul Sarfaraj Khan—linked to the same case.
Senior officials reiterated the force’s zero‑tolerance policy against corruption, emphasising that strict disciplinary measures will be taken against any officer or staff found guilty of bribery or malpractice.
The move, they said, is aimed at safeguarding public trust, accountability, and transparency within the police system.
This decisive action underscores the department’s commitment to ethical conduct and reinforces its anti‑corruption stance.
