Violent Clash Between Kinnar Groups Rocks Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A violent clash between two rival Kinnar (transgender) groups at Kalinga Studio Chowk on Tuesday evening left several people injured and disrupted traffic along the busy Khandagiri–Chandaka road.

According to police, the confrontation stemmed from a previous attack on Lipsita Kinnar.

Her group had called for a discussion, but upon arrival, they were allegedly ambushed by the rival faction.

Both sides retaliated with iron rods, sticks, wooden planks, and stone‑pelting, forcing shopkeepers to shut down and commuters to flee the area.

More than five individuals sustained serious injuries and were rushed to hospital.

Bharatpur Police registered two cases and arrested 10 people, including nine Kinnars and one associate. Weapons used in the clash were seized, and investigations are ongoing.
