No-Fly Zone in Ganjam as President Murmu Arrives

The Ganjam district administration has imposed a strict No-Flying Zone ahead of President Droupadi Murmu’s three-day visit to Odisha.

The restrictions, effective on August 4–5, prohibit drones, unmanned aircraft, powered gliders, hot air balloons, and similar aerial devices across key routes and venues.

The restricted zone covers the stretch from Brahmapur Railway Station to Taptapani, including Gosaninugaon, Andhapasara Road, Haridakhandi, Digapahandi Road, the Taptapani Temple Complex, and the Army Air Defence College at Golabandha.

Authorities have warned that violations will invite strict action under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Aircraft Act, Aircraft Rules, and Drone Rules.

President Murmu’s itinerary includes:

• August 3: Inauguration of Jagadguru Kripalu University in Cuttack.
• August 4: Train journey from Bhubaneswar to Brahmapur, followed by darshan at Maa Kandhuni Devi Temple and Shiva Temple in Taptapani.
• August 5: Visit to the Army Air Defence College before returning in the morning.

The measures underscore heightened security arrangements during the President’s visit.
