Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘King’ Seals Record ₹665 Crore Pre-Release Deal, Targets ₹800 Crore Box Office
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming action thriller King has reportedly set a new benchmark in the Indian film industry by securing pre-release deals worth an estimated ₹665 crore.
The development has generated significant buzz among trade analysts and movie enthusiasts ahead of the film’s scheduled release on December 24, 2026.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film has emerged as one of the most anticipated releases of the year.
According to industry reports, the massive pre-release revenue includes theatrical rights, digital streaming rights, music rights and satellite television rights.
The reported deal structure includes approximately ₹250 crore from Indian theatrical rights, ₹175 crore from overseas theatrical rights, ₹150 crore from digital streaming rights, ₹65 crore from music rights and ₹25 crore from satellite television rights.
Despite the impressive pre-release business, trade experts suggest that the film will still need a strong theatrical performance worldwide.
Reports indicate that King may require around ₹800 crore in global box office collections to ensure profitability for all stakeholders involved.
The film’s budget is reportedly estimated at around ₹400 crore, while overall expenditure, including production and marketing costs, could touch approximately ₹550 crore.
Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the star-studded cast features Shah Rukh Khan, Suhana Khan, Deepika Padukone, Rani Mukerji and Abhishek Bachchan.
With record-breaking pre-release deals already in place, all eyes are now on whether King can translate industry hype into box-office dominance and emerge as one of the biggest cinematic successes in recent years.
