Mumbai: Veteran actor Kamal Haasan is reportedly set to collaborate with director SU Arun Kumar for a new action drama, which is said to be titled Sandiyar.
According to media reports, the project is currently in the pre-production stage, with an official announcement expected soon.
Reports suggest that a special photoshoot for the film has already been completed, and the makers are planning to unveil the title and first-look poster on Kamal Haasan’s birthday.
The film is expected to be a grounded, realistic action entertainer set against the backdrop of Madurai.
Unlike many contemporary large-scale productions, the project is reportedly being developed with minimal dependence on visual effects.
Kamal Haasan is said to appear in a natural look, without the use of de-ageing technology, reflecting the film’s emphasis on authenticity.
The report further states that shooting is likely to begin in November and will take place entirely in Madurai to preserve the story’s local flavour and realism.
