Salman Khan Was Original Target, Tiger Shroff Became ‘Easy Second Choice’, Mumbai Police Probe Reveals
Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Salman Khan was allegedly the original target of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, but the plan was abandoned due to the actor’s heavy security cover, according to findings cited by Mumbai Police.
The revelation emerged during the investigation into a recent shooting incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff.
According to police sources, members of the gang had conducted extensive surveillance near Salman Khan’s residence in Mumbai.
However, the attackers reportedly concluded that the security arrangements around the actor’s Bandra home made it difficult to execute their plan.
The information was allegedly communicated to gang handlers, prompting a change in strategy.
Investigators claim that the gang subsequently shifted its focus to Tiger Shroff, who was considered a comparatively easier target due to his publicly known routine and lower security presence.
The accused allegedly tracked the actor’s movements through social media posts and monitored his regular football sessions in Mumbai’s Juhu area.
Police said the assailants reportedly waited near Pushpa Narsee Ground and opened fire when Shroff’s vehicle exited the premises.
While the actor escaped unharmed, the incident left his driver and an autorickshaw driver injured.
In a major breakthrough, law enforcement officials arrested three alleged shooters at Kota railway station while they were reportedly attempting to flee towards Delhi.
The accused have been identified as Phool Singh, Rehan Ansari, and Hrithik Kumar alias Roshan Ramu Mahto.
Police have also detained four other suspects accused of providing logistical and weapons support.
Authorities are expected to seek custodial interrogation as the investigation continues into the wider activities of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and its alleged network.
Following the latest developments, Mumbai Police have reportedly strengthened security arrangements around Salman Khan amid concerns over continued threats linked to the gang.
The case has once again brought attention to the ongoing security concerns surrounding Bollywood celebrities and the activities of organised criminal networks operating across multiple states.
