Boudh ADEO Suspended Over Alleged PMAY Irregularities; Probe Into Housing Fund Release Attempt
Boudh, Odisha: An Accountant-cum-Data Entry Operator (ADEO) posted at Khatakhatia Gram Panchayat under Kantamal block of Boudh district has been suspended over alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).
The action was taken following allegations of financial misconduct and manipulation of records linked to the rural housing scheme.
The suspended official has been identified as Saroj Kumar Mahakud, who was serving as ADEO at Khatakhatia Gram Panchayat.
According to reports, he allegedly uploaded photographs of an old house belonging to PMAY beneficiary Yajnaseni Banka to falsely indicate construction progress and facilitate the release of the scheme’s second instalment.
Officials alleged that the manipulated images were used to show progress in house construction under the flagship rural housing programme, potentially enabling unauthorised withdrawal of government assistance funds.
Taking serious note of the allegations, Boudh District Collector Bibhuti Bhusan Nayak ordered Mahakud’s suspension.
During the suspension period, the official has been directed to report daily at the Kantamal Tehsil office and has been barred from leaving the area without prior permission from authorities.
Administrative sources indicated that departmental proceedings are likely to follow as authorities examine the alleged violations and determine accountability in the matter
