Baripada Ganja Seizure: Dramatic Car Chase Ends with Arrests, Contraband Recovered
Baripada: A dramatic anti-narcotics operation in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district culminated in the seizure of ganja and the arrest of multiple suspects following a high-speed chase near Baripada.
According to reports, police intercepted a vehicle suspected of transporting contraband and launched a pursuit after the occupants allegedly attempted to flee.
The operation unfolded when law enforcement personnel identified a suspicious vehicle and signalled it to stop.
Instead of complying, the occupants reportedly tried to evade the police, triggering a chase through the area.
After a coordinated effort, the police successfully intercepted the vehicle and detained the occupants.
During the subsequent search, officials recovered a quantity of ganja from the vehicle. The suspects were taken into custody for further questioning.
Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation to determine the source and intended destination of the seized contraband.
Officials are also probing whether the arrested individuals are linked to a larger drug trafficking network operating in the region.
The seizure is part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to curb the illegal transportation and sale of narcotic substances across Odisha.
