Panchasakha Shiksha Setu Approves ₹7.29 Crore for 609 School Projects Across Odisha
The Odisha government’s flagship initiative Panchasakha Shiksha Setu has sanctioned Rs 7.29 crore for 609 school infrastructure projects spanning 23 districts.
The scheme, designed to strengthen alumni-school partnerships, has seen remarkable community participation.
More than 4,500 alumni, intellectuals, and institutions contributed Rs 2.43 crore, which was doubled by the programme, tripling the total funding pool.
Sambalpur district recorded the highest alumni contribution.
In addition to infrastructure development, the department announced the introduction of a financial literacy programme in PM SHRI schools, covering banking, savings, expenditure, and money management.
Teachers will receive specialised training to deliver this curriculum.
Professional development sessions will also be organised for DEOs, BEOs, and CRCs who received the Chief Minister’s Education Award.
The meeting, chaired by Dr N. Thirumala Naik, Secretary of the School & Mass Education Department, was attended by senior officials including Ananya Das (OSEPA) and Durgaprasad Mahapatra.
This initiative underscores Odisha’s commitment to public participation in education and highlights the growing role of alumni in shaping the future of schools.
