Odisha Police Earns National Acclaim for Anti-Maoist Success
Bhubaneswar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah has formally commended Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi for the state police’s remarkable achievements in anti-Maoist operations.
In a letter of appreciation, Shah praised the Odisha Police for restoring peace and advancing the national mission of a Naxal-free India.
The letter was presented to CM Majhi by DGP Y.B. Khurania and ADG (Anti-Naxal Operations) Sanjeeb Panda at the Chief Minister’s office.
Shah emphasised that Odisha’s success demonstrates how courage, smart strategy, and Centre–state coordination can dismantle entrenched extremist threats.
CM Majhi reaffirmed his government’s Zero Tolerance policy against extremism, promising continued support and resources for the police force.
He highlighted enhanced risk allowances and rehabilitation packages for personnel engaged in anti-Naxal duties.
The recognition is expected to boost morale among security forces and encourage Maoist cadres to surrender, reinforcing Odisha’s role as a model in counter-insurgency and rehabilitation efforts.
