Odisha Governor Urges Corporates to Transform CSR at Bridge Bharat Summit 2026

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati has called on corporates to make Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) more impactful, urging a shift from compliance-driven spending to strategic, outcome-oriented initiatives.

Speaking at the Bridge Bharat Summit 2026, he emphasised that CSR must align with the vision of Viksit Odisha @2036 and Viksit Bharat @2047.

The Governor highlighted priority sectors including education, healthcare, nutrition, drinking water, skill development, sports, rural development, and disaster preparedness.

He stressed that industries in steel, power, mining, and manufacturing must balance growth with environmental sustainability and community welfare.

Dr Kambhampati underscored the importance of treating communities as active partners rather than passive beneficiaries, advocating for collaboration between government, industry, civil society, and local communities.

He urged corporates to adopt a “triple bottom line” approach—delivering value across Profit, People, and Planet.

The summit also featured insights from MPs Sukanta Kumar Panigrahi and Dr Rabindra Narayan Behera, Public Enterprises Secretary Mohammad Sadique Alam, and IREDA CMD Bijay Kumar Mohanty, among others.
