Orissa High Court Rejects Bail Pleas in ASO Exam Scam

The Orissa High Court has denied bail to 14 accused individuals in the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) exam scam, including prime suspects Shankar Prusty and Suresh Nayak.

The court’s decision underscores the gravity of the allegations, which involve leaking question papers and manipulating recruitment under the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC).

The accused will remain in judicial custody as investigations continue.

Both Prusty and Nayak are also implicated in the police sub‑inspector exam scam, further intensifying scrutiny.

Defence lawyers expressed disappointment and signalled plans to appeal to the Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, the ruling has sparked outrage among job aspirants and youth across Odisha, who demand accountability and transparency in the state’s recruitment system.

This development marks a significant step in addressing one of Odisha’s largest recruitment controversies, with broader implications for public trust in competitive examinations.
