NIA Raids Three Bhubaneswar Locations in Sundarpada Blast Case
Bhubaneswar, July 14: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) carried out searches at three locations in Bhubaneswar in connection with the Sundarpada bomb blast case.
The blast, which occurred on January 27 in Azad Nagar Colony, left four individuals critically injured while allegedly assembling an improvised explosive device on a rooftop.
One of the accused, Sehnawaz Malik, succumbed to burn injuries on February 4, followed by his mother, Lizatun Bibi, on February 10.
Malik’s fiancée, Truptimayee Mahal, and his friend Amiya Mallick survived but sustained severe burns.
The case, initially registered at Airfield Police Station, was handed over to the NIA in April.
Recently, the agency arrested a 26‑year‑old man from Patia, Bhubaneswar, who had been hiding in Uttar Pradesh.
During Tuesday’s searches, investigators seized digital devices and incriminating materials to trace the source of explosives, components, and funding.
The NIA continues its probe to identify others involved in the conspiracy.
