Global Energy Leaders Summit 2025: Public-Private Partnerships Power India’s Clean Energy Transition

Bhubaneswar, December 7, 2025 — The second day of the Global Energy Leaders Summit 2025 underscored the critical role of public-private partnerships (PPP) in driving India’s clean energy transition.

Deputy Chief Minister and Energy Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo joined the high-level dialogue moderated by William Morrison, Chair of MetricsLed.

The session focused on the theme of “Partnership,” emphasising balanced investments, innovation, and collaboration between government and industry.

Vishal Dev, Principal Secretary, Energy, stressed the urgent need for India to shift from fossil-based to non-fossil-based energy sources to build a resilient and future-ready energy landscape.

Odisha’s distribution system under the DISCOM model was showcased as a successful example of efficient management through PPP frameworks.

Prominent industry leaders shared insights, including Praveer Sinha (CEO, Tata Power), Debabrata Ghosh (India Head, Aurora Energy), Chandra Bhusan (CEO, iForest), Vivek Jaswal (EVP, ReNew), and Prashant Choubey (President, Avaada Group).

They highlighted the importance of innovative PPP investments, green hydrogen development, and resilient distribution systems to strengthen India’s long-term energy security.

The summit reinforced that strong collaboration between government and industry is essential to accelerate renewable energy adoption and ensure a sustainable, non-fossil-based future for India.
