BJD Slams BJP Government Over Odisha’s Revenue & Disaster Management Failures
The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has sharply criticised the BJP-led Odisha government, alleging “administrative paralysis” in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.
According to the opposition party, the past two years have been marked by governance breakdowns, corruption scandals, and poor delivery of disaster relief.
BJD leaders highlighted severe backlogs in land mutation cases, Record of Rights (RoR) updates, and compensation disbursals.
Citizens reportedly face harassment, reliance on middlemen, and outdated paper-based systems.
Vigilance raids and disproportionate assets cases against officials have further eroded public trust.
The party also accused the government of failing to utilise disaster mitigation funds effectively.
Compensation distribution has allegedly been marred by irregularities, fake claims, and manipulated damage assessments.
Odisha continues to suffer recurring losses from lightning, floods, droughts, and heatwaves, with vulnerable communities left unsupported.
Calling for urgent reforms, the BJD urged the government to strengthen land administration, improve disaster response mechanisms, and restore credibility in governance.
The party emphasised that governance should be measured by outcomes, not announcements.
