Odisha Panchayati Raj Department Steps Up Preparations for Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
The Odisha Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Department has intensified preparations for the upcoming Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, with a strong emphasis on “zero exclusion” to ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left out of welfare schemes.
Minister Rabi Narayan Naik chaired a statewide review meeting, directing block officials to prepare calendars and beneficiary data banks.
The initiative will converge multiple campaigns, including:
- Seva Setu: Special camps to connect rural citizens directly with State and Central welfare programs, focusing on identification and enrollment of overlooked beneficiaries.
- ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ Plantation Drive: Sapling distribution at Gram Panchayat level, encouraging community participation for sustainable environmental impact.
- Swachhata Hi Seva 2026: Scheduled from September 17 to October 2, this campaign will drive rural cleanliness efforts and inaugurate 25 drinking water projects.
Senior officials, including Commissioner Girish S.N. and Director Vineet Bharadwaj, joined the review, while CDOs and BDOs shared grassroots strategies for logistics and public engagement.
Awareness campaigns will be rolled out across all blocks and Gram Panchayats to ensure maximum participation.
The Abhiyan is positioned as a holistic convergence of welfare outreach, environmental stewardship, and sanitation infrastructure, aiming to strengthen rural development across Odisha.
