Odisha Minister Orders Probe into Bhubaneswar R&B Division
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law, Works, and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan has ordered a high‑level probe into alleged financial irregularities in the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Division‑1 of Bhubaneswar.
The Works Department has been directed to conduct a comprehensive inquiry led by a senior official, with findings expected to identify those responsible and recommend preventive measures.
In an immediate response, the serving Superintending Engineer of Division‑1 has been removed and replaced with another officer.
The Minister also instructed all Superintending Engineers across divisions to verify un‑audited accounts and submit detailed financial reports countersigned by their Chief Construction Engineers.
Reiterating the government’s zero‑tolerance policy toward corruption, Harichandan assured that decisive action will follow once the final inquiry report is submitted.
