Disaster management achievements include prompt compensation disbursement, execution of census programmes, and successful handling of cyclones Dana and Mantha with zero casualties.

Upcoming initiatives feature the “Ama Gaanre Ama Tahasil” doorstep programme, creation of the State Institute of Disaster Resilience (SIDR), and introduction of a new Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act.

The department also corrected 64 place names to reflect Odia pronunciation, replacing colonial spellings.
