Ama Gaanre Ama Tahasil: A Game‑Changer in Rural Revenue Services

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Revenue & Disaster Management Department has launched a landmark initiative, Ama Gaanre Ama Tahasil (Tahasil at Doorstep), aimed at decentralising governance and delivering revenue services directly to villages.

Under this programme, Tahasil Camp Courts will be organised at the Panchayat level to provide services such as correction of Record of Rights (RoR), land demarcation, grievance redressal, and other revenue matters.

Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari emphasised that the true measure of success will be citizen acceptance.

Senior state officers have been appointed as Nodal Officers to conduct overnight field visits, interact with villagers, and gather feedback.

The department is also simplifying rules for agricultural land conversion in urban areas and drafting a new Rehabilitation and Resettlement framework for displaced persons.

In the last two years, over 2.5 crore revenue services have been delivered under the Odisha Right to Public Services (ORTPS) Act.

The initiative marks a shift from a file‑centric to a citizen‑first governance model, ensuring last‑mile service delivery and strengthening grassroots administration.
