The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Commissionerate Police has issued a public advisory warning citizens against online investment scams that promise “excessive profits.”

The advisory highlights that fraudsters often lure victims with unrealistic returns, leading to financial losses.

Authorities have urged the public to:

  • Verify company registration before investing.
  • Avoid unknown mobile apps and unauthorised websites.
  • Never share sensitive information such as OTPs, PINs, or bank details.
  • Report cyber fraud immediately by dialling 1930 or visiting cybercrime.gov.in.

The police emphasised vigilance with the message: “Be Alert. Be Safe. Protect Your Hard-Earned Money.”
