Volvo Bus Service Connects Puri and Harishankar
The Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has launched a Volvo bus service linking Puri’s Jagannath Dham with Harishankar in Balangir district.
Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, also MLA of Patnagarh, joined passengers on the inaugural journey from Bhubaneswar to Patnagarh.
On arrival, Singh Deo was warmly received by local residents, with officials including Sub‑Collector Sunil Meher and SDPO Sadanand Pujahari present.
The new service is expected to ease travel for residents of Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Khaprakhol, and Patnagarh, while strengthening spiritual and cultural ties.
It also aims to boost tourism by offering direct connectivity for pilgrims and visitors to Puri.
