Sambalpuri Saree, Pipili Applique Gifted to President at Lok Bhawan

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor Dr Hari Babu Kambhampati presented exquisite handicrafts and artefacts to President Droupadi Murmu at Lok Bhawan on Monday, marking the second day of her three‑day visit to the state.

The presentation included a National Handicrafts Award‑winning Sambalpuri Bandha Saree, a traditional Pipili applique piece, and a finely crafted Lord Ganesha statue in silver filigree from Cuttack.

Each item was chosen to showcase Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and craftsmanship.

First Lady of Odisha, Dr Jayashree Kambhampati, was also present during the occasion.

President Murmu is scheduled to continue her visit with a trip to Berhampur, highlighting the cultural and regional significance of her Odisha tour.
