Roadmap Unveiled for Kakatpur Maa Mangala Temple Revamp
Bhubaneswar: A high‑level review meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan has charted a comprehensive roadmap for the development of the historic Kakatpur Maa Mangala Temple.
Chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida and Law, Works & Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, the session focused on upgrading pilgrim amenities, preserving heritage, and enhancing the temple’s surroundings.
In Phase 1, plans include renovation of the main temple, construction of a new temple kitchen (Roshaghara), parking facilities, Sevayat Bhawan, modernisation of Yatri Niwas and Chandan Ghat, prasad shops, and a heritage gateway.
Phase 2 proposals feature a picnic zone, heritage ghat on the Prachi River, a dedicated bridge, children’s park, temple administrative office, and shoe stand.
Deputy CM Parida emphasised the temple’s status as a revered Shakti Peetha and pledged holistic development.
Minister Harichandan highlighted its religious importance and directed officials to prepare a detailed blueprint.
Senior engineers, OBCC MD, Tourism Director, Puri Collector, Endowment Commissioner, Temple Trust Board members, and Sevayats attended the meeting.
