Prez, PM Launch ₹47,600 Cr Odisha Projects | IEMS & Automated Testing Centres Rolled Out

Bhubaneswar: In a landmark initiative, President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi jointly dedicated welfare projects worth Rs 47,600 crore to Odisha’s development.

The projects include major transport infrastructure upgrades aimed at improving road safety and easing logistics.

Two modern truck terminals were inaugurated in Kalahandi and Girishola (Ganjam), offering rest facilities for drivers and reducing illegal highway parking.

To enhance transparency in licensing, Automated Driving Testing Systems (ADTS) were launched in Cuttack and Bhubaneswar, eliminating human intervention in driving tests.

Additionally, Automated Vehicle Testing Centres (ATS) were opened across nine districts, including Kendrapara, Nayagarh, Balasore, Boudh, Bhubaneswar, Mayurbhanj, Rourkela, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.

Odisha also introduced the Intelligent Enforcement Management System (IEMS) on four major routes—Sambalpur–Rourkela, Manguli–Sambalpur, Berhampur–Taptapani, and Berhampur–Bhanjanagar.

The system is designed to monitor reckless driving and reduce accidents, with plans for statewide expansion.

These initiatives mark a significant step toward strengthening Odisha’s transport infrastructure, ensuring safer roads, and providing better facilities for drivers and vehicle owners.
