Rayagada Woman Dies After Alleged Wrong Injection

Rayagada: A 54‑year‑old woman from Getipada village tragically died after allegedly being administered a wrong injection at a local medicine store.

According to reports, Bidia Kumar had been suffering from fever and cold for several days.

When her condition did not improve, she visited the store for treatment.

A staff member, identified as A.K. Bhatra, administered an injection. Soon after, Bidia’s health deteriorated rapidly.

Her family rushed her to Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital, but she died on the way.

Relatives have lodged a complaint with Chandili police, accusing the staff of medical negligence.

Police have detained the employee and initiated an investigation.

Authorities stated that further action will be taken based on medical reports and the outcome of the probe.
